Vermijd de status “withdrawn” voor je publicaties in Biblio.
Jaarlijks worden in Biblio op grote schaal nieuwe wetenschappelijke publicaties van UGent-onderzoekers ingevoerd. Een goede zaak, want zo ontstaat een zo volledig mogelijk beeld van de gepubliceerde onderzoeksoutput van de universiteit en haar onderzoekers, en wordt deze output meer zichtbaar en vindbaar, alsook bewaard voor de toekomst.
Enkel publiek zichtbare publicaties kunnen in rekening worden genomen bij o.a. financieringsaanvragen (BOF, IOF) en interfacultaire verdeelsleutels voor het toekennen van onderzoeksmiddelen. Daarom is het belangrijk dat de ingevoerde informatie volledig is en de ingevoerde publicaties hun weg vinden naar de publieke Biblio-interface (ofwel front office).
Wanneer de ingevoerde informatie echter onvolledig is, krijgen de betrokken publicaties de status “withdrawn” in de Biblio back office. Dit betekent dat ze nog niet zichtbaar zijn in de publieke Biblio-interface met overzicht van alle UGent-publicaties. Om dit te verhelpen dien je met andere woorden zo snel mogelijk je “withdrawn” publicaties te vervolledigen in Biblio.
Concreet
- Meld je aan bij http://backoffice.biblio.ugent.be.
- Ga naar Publications, en selecteer “Withdrawn” status onder “Biblio Status”.
- Vul de ontbrekende info/full text aan (let op: voor closed access tijdschriftartikels vragen we de AAM-versie)
- Klik opnieuw op “Publish” om de publicatie weer aan te bieden.

Avoid the "Withdrawn" Status for Your Publications in Biblio.
Every year, a large number of new scientific publications by UGent researchers are added to Biblio. This is a positive development, as it helps create a complete view of all the research the university and its researchers publish. It makes our research more visible, easier to find, and ensures that it's preserved for the future.
Only publicly visible publications can be considered for funding applications (BOF, IOF) and interfaculty allocation of research resources, among other purposes. That's why it's important that the information you provide is complete and that the entered publications find their way to the public Biblio interface (front office).
However, if the entered information is incomplete, the relevant publications are labeled as "withdrawn" in the Biblio back office. This means they are not yet visible in the public Biblio interface. To avoid this, complete your withdrawn publications in Biblio as soon as possible.
Step by Step
- Log in at http://backoffice.biblio.ugent.be.
- Go to "Publications" and select the "Withdrawn" status under "Biblio Status."
- Complete the missing information/full text (note: for closed-access journal articles, we request the AAM version).
- Click "Publish" again to resubmit the publication for visibility.
