[VLAIO] Innovatiemandaten: postdoctoraal onderzoek ism bedrijfsleven | Innovation mandates: postdoctoral research in collaboration with industry

Oproep 2023

VLAIO lanceert de 2e oproep voor Innovatiemandaten 2023 met uiterste indiendatum dinsdag 5 september 2023 om 12u.

Het doel van de innovatiemandaten is om strategisch basisonderzoek uit te voeren met het oog op een transfer van onderzoeksresultaten naar het bedrijfsleven, hetzij naar een bestaand bedrijf, hetzij naar een nieuw op te richten spin-off bedrijf.

Extra: Frank De Winne mandaten (ruimtevaartsector)

Er worden nog steeds middelen voorzien voor extra mandaten (Frank De Winne mandaten) in het kader van het impulsprogramma Ruimtevaarteconomie, conform de Beslissing Vlaamse Regering van 2 april 2021. Het doel is om jong onderzoekstalent de opportuniteit te geven om een duurzame loopbaan te starten en uit te bouwen in de Vlaamse ruimtevaartindustrie en tegelijk het ruimtevaartonderzoek in Vlaanderen naar een hoger niveau te tillen.

Deze 2 mandaten worden specifiek geoormerkt gericht op innovatieve toepassingen in de ruimtevaartsector.

De 'Frank De Winne postdoc mandaten' zijn innovatiemandaten en passen binnen het impulsprogramma Vlaamse ruimtevaarteconomie. Dit impulsprogramma focust op talent, competitiviteit, internationale samenwerking en het aanwakkeren van brede interesse in ruimtevaart. Dit zijn mandaten ter ondersteuning van de ruimtevaartindustrie met als doel:

  • Uptake van space technologie of applicatie bij het bedrijf
  • Space technologie of kennis transfer van onderzoek naar het bedrijf
Let op! De promotor moet nagaan of de onderzoeksresultaten ook nuttig kunnen zijn voor militaire toepassingen, en of de projectpartners defensietechnologie ontwikkelen. Indien dit het geval is, dan meld je het project aan het Meldpunt Dual Use, dat nagaat of het onderzoeksvoorstel in overeenstemming is met de wetgeving en het UGent-beleid rond dual use onderzoek. Voor de opmaak van uw budget en de online indieningsprocedure kan u terecht bij de dienst Onderzoekscoördinatie van de Universiteit Gent. Wij vragen om u ten laatste 5 werkdagen op voorhand aan te melden via vlaams-federaal@ugent.be. Niet alle projectinfo hoeft al gekend te zijn.

Call for proposals 2023

VLAIO launches the second call of 2023 with deadline Tuesday 5 September 2023 at 12:00.

The aim of innovation mandates is to carry out strategic basic research whith a view to transferring research results to the industry, either to an existing company or to a newly created spin-off company.

Extra: Frank De Winne mandates (space industry)

There is still budget available for extra mandates (Frank De Winne mandates) in the context of the impuls programme Aerospace economy from the Flemish Government. The goal is to give young, talented researchers the opportunity to start and expand a sustainable career in the Flemish space industry, while at the same time bringing space research in Flanders to a higher level.

These 2 extra mandates will be earmarked specifically for innovative applications in the space sector.

The postdoctoral mandates Frank De Winne are innovation mandates within the impuls programme Aerospace economy. This programme focuses on talent, competitiveness, international cooperation and stimulating broad interest in space travel. These are mandates to support the space industry with the aim to:

  • Uptake of space technology or application at the company
  • Space technology or knowledge transfer from research to the company

Attention! The UGent supervisor must assess whether the research results could also be useful for military applications or whether project partners develop defence technology. If so, you must report the research to the Dual-Use Contact Point which verifies whether the research proposal is in accordance with legal obligations and the university’s dual-use policy. For help with your budget and the online application procedure from VLAIO you can contact Research Co-ordination Office. We ask you to inform us of your application at the latest 5 working day before submission at vlaams-federaal@ugent.be. Not all project information has to be known already.
