[UOS] Moving Beyond Development Cooperation at Ghent University - 2 May 2023

How do we, at Ghent University, want to engage in international cooperation with academic and non-academic partners based in Latin America, Africa and Asia – and how do our partners want to collaborate with us? This question was central to a two-year policy study on “moving beyond development cooperation at Ghent University”.

The Academic Director for Internationalization and the Research Department invite you to share your feedback on the findings of this study.

The report discusses key themes, bottlenecks and opportunities for moving beyond the framework of university development cooperation. It offers ways to understand and respond to challenges relating to 1) collaborative dynamics, 2) the production and sharing of local and global knowledge, and 3) the question ‘why change?’. Further, it includes key findings that relate to the trajectories of PhD students from the Global South at Ghent University.
