[Europa][FWO] Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) cofund-partnership: new call open

Deze transnationale oproep (Thema: Urban challenges to help cities in their transition towards a more sustainable economy and functioning) focust zich op 3 stedelijke ‘transitiepaden’ (TPs), die per ‘TP’ verder worden onderverdeeld in drie ‘(sub)topics': 

15-minute City (15mC)

  • 15mC topic 1 – Advancing urban mobility: innovations for inclusive and youth-centric mobility systems;
  • 15mC topic 2 – Reconsidering urban mobility systems: towards system innovation and proximity policies for sustainable city regions;
  • 15mC topic 3 – Evidence for the urban mobility transition: data and indicators for effective decision-making.

Positive Energy Districts (PEDs)

  • PED topic 1 – Local PEDs in a multi-level perspective;
  • PED topic 2 – Towards the climate-neutral city: PEDs, system integration and urban strategies;
  • PED topic 3 – Managing the urban energy transition: data management and decision support systems. 

Circular Urban Economies (CUE)

  • CUE topic 1 – Creating a new paradigm for urban water cycles;
  • CUE topic 2 – Circular models for regenerating, repurposing, protecting and conserving urban space for biodiversity;
  • CUE topic 3 – Multi-city strategies for circular urban economy monitoring and management.

Deadline full proposal: 24 april 2025 (13:00 CET)

Let op!

Onderzoekers uit Vlaanderen die bij het FWO financiering aanvragen dienen naast het DUT-projectvoorstel eveneens een administratieve aanvraag in te dienen, via het FWO e-loket:

  • FO-projecten: aanvraagtype ‘Research projects – European programme fundamental research’ 
  • SBO-projecten: aanvraagtype ‘strategic basic research projects (SBO)’ 

Het FWO en VLAIO raden onderzoekers aan om  voor indiening contact op te nemen omtrent de ontvankelijkheidscriteria. Dit om de onontvankelijkheid van de Vlaamse onderzoeker(s) individueel, en het consortium als geheel, te vermijden.

Wie indient via VLAIO moet ten laatste 14 november 2024 een extra annex aan VLAIO bezorgen. Hou er rekening mee dat bij TETRA-projecten minstens 2/3e van het gevraagde budget moet gaan naar een hogeschool of onderzoeksgroep van een universiteit die verbonden is aan een van de geïntegreerde opleidingen. 

  • Voor inhoudelijke begeleiding kan u terecht bij Jakob Kuhs 
  • Gelieve het projectbudget minstens 5 werkdagen voor indiening voor te leggen aan Team Vlaams-Federaal

Please note:

Applicants for FWO funding must submit an administrative application via the FWO e-loket:

  • For fundamental research projects (FO): application type: ‘Research projects – European programme fundamental research’;
  • For strategic basis research projects (SBO): application type: ‘Research projects – European programme strategic basic research’.

Researchers are strongly advised to contact the FWO or VLAIO before submission regarding the eligibility criteria. This to avoid the ineligibility of a researcher individually, and the project consortium as a whole.

Applicants for VLAIO have to submit an extra annex to VLAIO by 14 November 2024. Keep in mind that for TETRA projects at least 2/3rd of the budget must be appointed to a university college or a research group at a university that is connected to an integrated education programme.
