Resources: consulting e-resources as a library visitor

Via lib.ugent.be, you can search directly in millions of scientific e-resources, mainly articles and (chapters of) e-books.

Students and staff affiliated with Ugent automatically have access to all e-resources for which a license has been obtained.

Registered readers who are not affiliated with Ghent University can log in to the library catalog but do not have access to UGent-only resources due to publishers' copyright restrictions. This also applies to members of a Ghent University Alumni Association, staff members of Ghent University Hospital, and staff members and students of the other partners of the Ghent University Association who register with the university library.

Tips for library visitors

  1. If you do not want to see e-resources in your search results, you can search ‘In the library’ only. You can make that selection left of the search bar.
  2. If you only want to only see open access e-resources in your search results, you can search within ‘Everything’ and then filter by ‘open access’.
  3. You can consult the licensed e-resources on the desktop computers within the UGent libraries.
