[BIB] Jaarlijkse oproep aanvullen publicaties in Biblio | Annual call to register publications in Biblio

Het jaar 2022 is voorbij dus nodigen we je uit je wetenschappelijke publicaties van publicatiejaar 2022 aan te vullen in de academische bibliografie Biblio. Gelieve daarbij volgende deadlines in acht te nemen met het oog op de aanleveringen voor de BOF-sleutel. 

  • 15 maart 2023 is de deadline voor invoer van publicaties 2021-2022 die in aanmerking komen voor het Vlaams Academisch Bibliografisch Bestand voor de Sociale en Humane Wetenschappen (VABB-SHW). Artikels die verschijnen in de Emerging Sources Citations Index (ESCI) van Web of Science zijn geen A1 maar kunnen wel voor VABB in aanmerking komen als A2. 
  • 1 juli 2023 is de deadline voor alle (overige) publicaties van 2021-2022. 

Bij het invoeren van je gepubliceerde onderzoeksoutput in Biblio hou je best ook rekening met enkele recente beleidsontwikkelingen binnen UGent en FWO, en de nieuwe Biblio back office.  

Recente beleidsontwikkelingen 

Sinds 1 Januari 2023 is aan de UGent een vernieuwd beleid rond wetenschappelijk publiceren van kracht, inclusief bepalingen i.v.m. de verplichte registratie en deponering.  De impact voor het invoeren van je gepubliceerde onderzoeksoutput in Biblio hangt af van het publicatiejaar.  

Het FWO heeft eind 2022 nieuwe rapporteringsverplichtingen geïntroduceerd voor onderzoeksresultaten voortkomend uit minstens gedeeltelijk met FWO-middelen gefinancierd onderzoek. Om hieraan tegemoet te komen is het essentieel dat je je publicaties en datasets in Biblio linkt aan het bijhorende FWO-project geregistreerd in GISMO.

Een nieuwe Biblio back office 

Afgelopen november werd een nieuwe Biblio back office gelanceerd, d.w.z. de interface waar je je gepubliceerde output invoert. Deze update faciliteert o.a. de implementatie van het nieuwe UGent-beleid alsook de externe beleidsontwikkelingen. Zo kan je voortaan in Biblio ook beschrijvingen van je gepubliceerde datasets toevoegen, en linken aan de eventuele bijhorende publicaties en projecten.

Now 2022 has ended we call upon you to complete your scholarly publications in the academic bibliography Biblio for the year 2022. In doing so, please observe the following deadlines in view of the submissions for the BOF allocation key. 

  • 15 March 2023 is the deadline for registration of publications 2021-2022 eligible for the Vlaams Academisch Bibliografisch Bestand for the Social Sciences and Humanities (VABB-SHW). Articles accepted in Web of Science's Emerging Sources Citations Index (ESCI) are not A1, but may be eligible for VABB as A2. 
  • 1 July 2023 is the deadline for all (other) publications of 2021-2022. 

When entering your published research output in Biblio, it is best to take into account some recent policy developments within Ghent University and FWO, and the new Biblio back office.  

Recent policy developments 

As of 1 January 2023, a new policy on scholarly publishing is in force at Ghent University, including provisions on mandatory registration and deposit. The impact on adding your published research outputs in Biblio depends on the publication year.  

At the end of 2022, the FWO introduced new reporting requirements for research results resulting from research funded at least partly by FWO funds. To comply, it is essential that you link your publications and datasets in Biblio to the corresponding FWO project registered in GISMO.

A new Biblio back office 

Last November saw the launch of a new Biblio back office, i.e. the interface where you enter your published outputs. Among other things, the update facilitates the implementation of the new UGent policy and external policy developments. From now on, for example, you can also add descriptions of your published datasets in Biblio, and link them to any related publications and projects.
