[FWO] Information Session Junior and Senior Research projects

In januari 2023 lanceert het FWO de nieuwe oproep Junior en Senior Onderzoeksprojecten. Universiteit Gent organiseert in samenwerking met het FWO een online informatiesessie over deze oproep op donderdag 26 januari 2023: 

  • 09:00-11:00    FWO Research projects & Weave + Q&A – dr. Gregory Absillis (FWO)
  • 11:00 -11:20     FWO results in 2022 and internal submission process – Sien Smits (UGent)
  • 11:20 – 11:40   Tackling RDM in your FWO research proposal + Q&A – Thomas Van de Velde (UGent)
  • 11:40 – 12:00   Ethics in your research: awareness, research design and legal aspects + Q&A  – Tom Geerinckx (UGent)
  • 12:00 – 12:20   FWO proposal writing: impact & scicomm + Q&A – Esther De Smet (UGent)

Meer informatie over de oproep verschijnt in januari op de UGent-website. Aangezien Team Vlaams-Federaal de projectaanvragen op een aantal ontvankelijkheidscriteria (o.a. budget) nakijkt, geldt een interne deadline: 14 maart 2023, 17u. Indienen gebeurt via het FWO e-loket (‘submit to host institution’).

We werken ook met een vooraanmelding. Als u voor dinsdag 14 februari via volgende link doorgeeft dat u een onderzoeksproject plant in te dienen, kunnen we een proactieve opvolging garanderen:

  • We bezorgen u per e-mail een overzicht van de ontvankelijkheidscriteria en reglementaire wijzigingen ten opzichte van de oproep 2022. 
  • We brengen onze collega’s van het Biblioteam op de hoogte dat u zal indienen. Zo kunnen zij uw records in Biblio nakijken en ondersteuning bieden bij de export van publicaties naar het FWO e-loket.
  • We kijken de ontvankelijkheid als (co-) promotor meteen na en signaleren zo eventuele ontvankelijkheidsproblemen tijdig.

  • Datum informatiesessie: 26 januari 2023 (09:00-13:00) 

  • Vooraanmelding (UGent): 14 februari 2023 (17:00)

  • Interne UGent-deadline (via het FWO e-loket): 14 maart 2023 (17:00)

More information about this call can be found on the Ghent University website from January onwards. Given that Team Vlaams-Federaal checks each project proposal against a number of eligibility criteria, the internal deadline for submission is 14 March 2023 (17:00). You have to submit your project proposal via the FWO e-loket (‘submit to host institution’).

There is a preregistration as well. If you inform Team Vlaams-Federaal via this link before 14 February (17:00) that you are planning to submit a research project, we can guarantee a proactive follow-up: 

  • We send you an overview of the eligibility criteria and changes in the regulations as compared to last year by e-mail.
  • We inform our colleagues from the Biblio team that you will submit a proposal. This allows them to check your records in Biblio and offer support with the export of publications to the FWO e-loket.
  • We immediately check the eligibility as a (co-)promotor and warn you if there is a problem.
