Pragmatische studies die de klinische doeltreffendheid van twee interventies vergelijken die reeds in de klinische praktijk gebruikt worden, maar nog onvoldoende met elkaar vergeleken zijn.
- Dit omvat therapeutische interventies, diagnostische procedures, screeningsmethoden, of preventiemaatregelen.
- Bv. geneesmiddelen, medische hulpmiddelen, psychotherapie, dieet- of lifestyle interventies, diagnostische testen, heelkundige ingrepen, interventies met innovatieve technologieën, eHealth,...
Drug repurposing trials
- Evaluatie van een nieuwe indicatie voor een reeds goedgekeurd geneesmiddel waarvan het patent verlopen is.
Out of Scope:
- Kankeronderzoek
- Fundamenteel of preklinisch onderzoek
- Observationele studies, cohort studies, translationeel onderzoek, meta-analyses,…
- Ontwikkeling van nieuwe interventies of gebruik van geneesmiddelen zonder vergunning in Europa of medische hulpmiddelen zonder CE-markering

Deadline pre-proposal submission: 27 januari 2026
Deadline full proposal (voor geselecteerde kandidaten): 17 juni 2026
Verwachte project start (voor geselecteerde kandidaten): januari – mei 2027

Drug repurposing trials
- Evaluating a new indication of an approved off-patent medication
Out of scope:
- Cancer research
- Fundamental or pre-clinical research
- Observational studies, cohort studies, translational research, meta-analyses, etc.
- Development of a new healthcare intervention, or use of drugs without marketing authorization in Europe or medical device without CE mark.
