[HORIZON EUROPE] New template for Horizon Europe RIA/IA/CSA proposals
New proposal template
The European Commission has released a new proposal template for Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Actions (RIA), Innovation Actions (IA) and Coordination and Support Actions (CSA). The template will apply to proposals submitted under Horizon Europe Calls from 2026 onwards, including those in the upcoming 2026–2027 Work Programmes.
The revised template is primarily intended to simplify the proposal structure and improve clarity for applicants and evaluators.
Key changes include:
Simplified section 2.1 'Project's pathways towards impact'
- Several guidelines have been removed from this section, among which the requirement to include scale and significance, and the specific breakdown into scientific/economic/societal impact.
- The Impact Summary table becomes optional to include.
- The distinction between scientific/societal/economic impact is not requested anymore.
Simplified section 3.1 'Work plan and resources'
- The tables on 'other cost categories' and 'in kind-contributions' have been removed. The table on 'purchase costs' has been simplified.
Reduction of the page limit
- RIA & IA: the page limit is set at 40 pages. For topics using lump sum funding, it is set at 45 pages.
- CSA: the page limit is set at 25 pages. For topics using lump sum funding, it is set at 28 pages.
